For almost 20 years, I’ve advised and supported organisations facing difficult issues in research integrity — from honest errors through to deliberate misconduct. These situations are often complex, require sensitive handling and can expose organisations to significant reputational and other risks. I bring the calm, experienced input needed to help you address matters fairly and effectively.
I’ve guided research organisations, funders, publishers, learned societies, regulars and governments in handling concerns and investigations. I’ve advised on compliance with national and funder policies, and I understand how to balance thoroughness, confidentiality and sensitivity. I’ve supported universities, private sector bodies, NHS organisations, charities and public sector bodies in responding to concerns from whistleblowers and the robust resolution of concerns.
Working with funders and publishers, I’ve helped them liaise effectively with researchers and research organisations to ensure compliance with their grant terms and conditions and their editorial policies and standards.
I also help organisations learn from problems once they are resolved, reducing the risk of recurrence and strengthening research quality and trust through applying lessons that have been learned. My advice is practical and realistic, informed by years of successfully managing and advising on cases across all disciplines and sectors.
