I am an independent research integrity and research culture consultant, bringing over 19 years’ experience helping organisations and researchers enhance the quality and integrity of their work.
I support institutions and individuals to embed good research practice and positive research cultures, address mistakes and misconduct, comply with funders’ requirements and implement systemic improvements.
- Former Chief Executive of the UK Research Integrity Office, where I led the organisation for 15 years, taking it from a pilot initiative to a nationally recognised body supported by over 120 research organisations.
- Trusted adviser to research organisations, funders, publishers and other stakeholders, providing confidential guidance and support on sensitive and high-profile matters.
- Expert trainer and communicator, delivering workshops, lectures, policy review and mentoring across the UK and internationally – for researchers and research-enabling staff, from those early in their careers to senior leaders.
- Active contributor to national and international research initiatives and strategy, including the UK Concordat to Support Research Integrity, parliamentary evidence, expert panels and policy submissions.
I work collaboratively with organisations and individuals to strengthen research integrity, improve research culture and environments, and navigate complex challenges.
I cover policy, practice and the tricky space between the two – translating initiatives into impactful change and helping you to meet the requirements of funders and other stakeholders.
